MP will be a driving force in India's economy, Modi says at Global Investors Summit

INDORE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday heaped praise on development efforts of Madhya Pradesh government under chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

"I am sure MP will be a driving force in India's economy. This state can cater to the entire nation," Narendra Modi said at the Global Investors Summit here adding, "The world must know that a state has been growing rapidly in the last few years. Even GoI must talk about MP."


Lauding the state's efforts the Prime Minister said, "MP is making two electronic estates to make Digital India a reality. See how Centre and states can work together for progress."


Reiterating that states were important for the development of the country, Modi said, "Those who understand the strength of the states understand the strength of India."


Inviting investors to the state, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, "I do not speak from the mind. I speak from the heart. Invest in MP your efforts will not go waste."


Earlier, after landing at the airport Modi lamented his short presence at the Global Investors Summit and assured that he would stay connected as 'MP's Sewak' with the state's CM over entire two days for the grand conclave's success.


"I needed to be present for entire two days here, not because I'm a BJP man, but rather as the nation's PM. But owing to various pre-determined programmes, I had to stick myself only to the inaugural function today," said Modi while addressing the BJP workers at the Indore Airport old terminal building just after landing in the city.


The PM added, "let me assure you that I'll stay connected with chief minister both days as MP's Sewak and aid him in successful completion of all plans and ventures churned out from the grand conclave."


In his 8 minute speech before proceeding to the GIS venue in the city, the PM, praised chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for transforming MP from a BIMARU state to one of country's top developing states.


"MP is not only developing itself on all parameters, but also guiding the nation's overall development," Modi said.
