Speaking at his customary Dussehra rally in Nagpur, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat patted the government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying in the past six months it "is moving in the right direction".

Bhagwat said: "It is only six months but positive signs are already emanating."

"It is moving in the right direction, but we will have to give them time... Nobody has a magic wand by which all problems of many years will disappear," Bhagwat said.

The RSS chief touched upon a wide range of topics ranging from ancient Indian traditions to the regional situation, current global scenario, terrorism and India's future role and significance in world affairs.

It has been a practice since the RSS's inception for its chief to deliver a speech on Dussehra day which was when the organization was founded in 1925. The RSS function is traditionally held at Reshimbag ground, a stone's throw from the RSS headquarters in Mahal. The ground also houses the memorial of RSS founder Keshav Hedgewar.
