Azam Khan, Kalbe Jawad bay for each other’s blood

LUCKNOW: The war of words between Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad and minority welfare minister Azam Khan continued on Independence day too. While Jawad demanded ouster of Azam from the state cabinet, Khan said those speaking against Muhammad Ali Jauhar University were playing in the hands of fascist forces. Jawad supporter held a meeting after Friday prayers and condemned Khan for accusing Jawad of corruption. They claimed Jawad is a honest man dedicated to welfare of people. Jawad in his speech said he has written to the governor to sack Khan. Another Shia Cleric Maulana Murad Raza said that Khan is involved in communal and casteist politics. Maulana Raza Hussein said Shias will write to the President seeking removal of Khan. The minister issued a statement dubbing Jawad a BJP agent. Jawad and Khan have locked horns on the issue of Shia Waqf Board elections with both accusing each other of corruption.
