Vishwanath Hegde said his daughter, Prathvi, had boils on her left leg that failed to heal for a long time. "Her doctor asked us to do a CT scan. On June 25, we went to Om CT scan centre in Dombivli (E), where she was given an anaesthesia injection before the scan," said Vishwanath.
He said the doctor asked him to rush Prathvi to Ace Hospital soon after the scan because she was "critical". The hospital declared her dead before admission. Vishwanath alleged that Prathvi had died during the scan because of an overdose of anaesthetic.
The police have already started its probe. "We are collecting documents to be sent to the district doctor team. We will take further action based on the team's findings," said senior police inspector Milind Patil.
Dr Laxmi Magar of Om CT Scan Centre told TOI, "We had to give local anaesthetic to the child as she was reluctant for the scan. Twenty minutes after the scan, we saw she was restless and asked the parents to rush her to Ace Hospital. She died there." He added that there was no negligence on their part.
