NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Centre and states to make functional all additional CBI courts promised to be created by the Prime Minister four years ago.
The SC told state governments to make functional these special courts within four months or else make their chief secretaries face contempt proceedings.
The SC said setting up of special CBI courts to expeditiously try corruption cases will redeem people's faith in the criminal justice system.
