Mumbai and US institutes sign MoU for research

MUMBAI: SVKM'S Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Henry Ford Health System (HFHS), Michigan, US to address the urgent need to utilize the expertise and infrastructure at both ends, and promote research in specialized areas of biomedical sciences.

NMIMS and HFHS have entered into an agreement, which will now enable both the premier institutes to share knowledge, expertise. The collaborative agreement between the School of Science, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and the Cellular and Molecular Imaging Laboratory in the Department of Radiology, Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) will promote research in specialized areas of Biomedical Sciences.


Dr Rajan Saxena, vice chancellor, NMIMS University said, "This unique partnership will involve a multidisciplinary approach to developing more efficient and sensitive imaging modalities for cell tracking". According to the MoU signed, the various forms of co-operation that will be pursued are visits by or exchange of doctoral students from both the organizations, exchange of faculty members and scientists for research. Also, joint research activities will be promoted at HFHS and NMIMS. With the help of the agreement both the organizations can even push for submission of grants to seek research funding and joint research publications.
