Goods train derails near Chiplun, Konkan Railway disrupted

MUMBAI: Services on the Konkan Railway were disrupted after derailment of a goods train near Chiplun on Tuesday morning.

Twelve wagons of a goods train derailed between Chiplun and Kamathe station at 7.45 am. Passengers can contact 022 - 27587939 for train inquiry.


A KR spokesperson said, "Several trains were cancelled or diverted due to the incident. Moreover, transhipment of passengers of a few trains is also being carried out."


Among the trains cancelled are CSTM-Madgaon 'Mandovi' Express in Up and Down direction, Dadar-Madgaon 'Janashatabdi' Express in Up and Down direction, Diva-Sawantwadi Passenger in Up and Down direction and Ratnagiri-Dadar passenger in Up directions.


Trivandrum-LTT 'Netravati' Express, Trivandrum-Veraval Express, Tirunvelveli-HAPA Express, LTT-Trivandrum ' Netravati' Express, LTT-Mangalore 'Matsyagandha' Express, and LTT-Kochuveli Express have been diverted through other route.


Transhipment arrangement between Chiplun and Kamathe stations is beng carried out for Ernakulam-Nizamuddin 'Mangala' Express left Ernakulam, Kochuveli-Chandigarh 'Kerala Sampark Kranti' Express which left Kochuveli and Chandigarh-Madgaon 'Goa Sampark Kranti' Express which left Chandigarh.
