NEW DELHI: Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to Centre on alleged non-implementation of National Health Policy, 2002, leading to shortage of cheap and life saving drugs.
"Right to health is a fundamental right and non-availability of cheap drugs has forced poor people to buy costly branded drugs," the apex court said.
The top court asked the Centre to file response on a PIL seeking availability of cheap generic drugs to people below poverty line.
