MUMBAI: Suburban railway services on Central Railway's Up and Down lines were disrupted during the morning peak hour after a OHE wire snapped on the Thane-bound slow line at around 8.45 pm.
According railway officials, "Services were running late by 20 to 25 minutes as slow line services towards Thane were diverted on Fast corridor. Due to diversion of trains, the movement on CST bound tracks had also slowed down."
Commuters took to social networking sites to alert people about the problem.
A commuter warned, "My trains for Kalyan stuck for more than 20 minutes at Byculla."
Due to disruption, many were using road transport, thus adding upto congestion on several stretches in South Mumbai.
A commuter alerted people, especially SSC student to leave home early, as the board exams begin from today.
