Officials asked to acquire land for junction improvement

HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner Somesh Kumar has instructed the town planning wing to prepare a junction improvement plan at Habsiguda crossroads and ECIL crossroads by February 5, 2014 as well as for the junction opposite Radhika multiplex by February 7, 2014. The junction improvement has become necessary due to traffic congestion. The commissioner directed the officials to acquire the land necessary for the junction improvement by dismantling existing buildings.

The commissioner along with Uppal MLA B Raji Reddy inspected several road widening works and Municipal Market Complexes in Kapra and Uppal circles on Friday. He visited Nacharam vegetable market and found that 19 out of 56 shops and 24 stalls out of 40 are vacant and asked the estate wing officials to conduct auction to allot them to the traders in a month. The commissioner directed the engineering wing to complete all the repairs in the shops stalls and toilets.
