Four IPS officers, including RTC MD, bag Prez police medals

HYDERABAD: Four senior IPS officers, including APSRTC managing director J Purnachandra Rao, bagged the President's Police Medal (PPM) while 26 police officers, including eight IPS officers, were selected for the Indian Police Medal (IPM) on Saturday on the eve of the Republic Day.

The other three IPS officers who were chosen for PPM are: P Umapathi, DIG Vishakaptam, T Yoganand, DIG APSP, and T Murali Krishna, DIG of Kurnool Range.


The IPM award winners are: Vikram Singh Mann (DIG, Eluru Range), N Shivashankar Reddy (East Godavari SP), G Srinivas (SP, Intelligence), D Nagendra Kumar (Mahbubnagar SP), A Satyanarayana (Joint Director, ACB), V Ravinder (SP, Intelligence), P Rajendra Prasad (Octopus SP), and M Chakradhar Rao (13th Battalion Commandant).


Prasad Rao Gaddam, head warder, sub-jail, Giddalur, was awarded the correctional service medal for meritorious service by the President on the eve of the Republic Day.


The correctional service medal for distinguished service was awarded to two officers while correctional service medals for meritorious service were awarded to 39 officers from 15 States/UTs on the occasion of Republic Day, 2014.
