During the first executive committee meeting of SCSC held under the chairmanship of Cyberabad commissioner C V Anand at his office in Gachibowli on Wednesday, SCSC secretary V Srinivasa Prasad said that currently there were 47 CCTV cameras in the IT zone at Madhapur and Gachibowli, with 49 kilometres of exclusive optic fiber owned by the Council. He said that through the CCTV project, 28 cases of kidnapping, accident, theft, hit-and-run were solved.
Addressing the participants, the Cyberabad police commissioner pointed out that currently there were 200 IT companies in Madhapur and Gachibowli areas, but only 87 of them were members of SCSC. The executive committee accepted his proposal of making the SCSC membership mandatory for all IT companies and IT parks in the area.
The Cyberabad commissioner also agrred to talk to the APIIC in allotment of parking places in Madhapur and Gachibowli and construction of a new building for the Command and Control Centre of SCSC at the Cyberabad police commissionerate. The committee members have also appealed to the commissioner to install night vision CCTV cameras in their network.
