HYDERABAD: Dismissed Police Transport Organisation (PTO) head constable Giri Prasad Sarma is in the news for all wrong reasons. On Wednesday night, he called up some local news channels and claimed he had abducted three persons, including two PTO employees and a local BJP leader.
He said he would release the trio, including PTO senior clerk Ramana Rao, only after the state government puts an end to corrupt practices at the PTO and the Union government announces formation of Greater Rayalaseema.
As proof to his claims, Sarma released a photograph of Ramana Rao lying on a bed. He, however, did not show photos of the other two persons and neither did he reveal their names. Ramana Rao was not present at his house at Jagadgirigutta and police have launched a manhunt to nab Sarma.
On September 12, 2012, Sarma had confined then PTO superintendent of police Laxminarayana at his office at Adarshnagar and released him only after the intervention of senior cops . Subsequently, Sarma was dismissed.
