Celebs voice against SC judgement on LGBT

Celebrities from the film fraternity have voiced their opinion against the Supreme Court's judgment of setting aside the decision of the Delhi high court, which had in 2009 decriminalised sexual relation between persons belonging to same sex. Section 377 (unnatural offences) of the IPC makes gay sex a criminal offence entailing punishment up to life term.

The celebrities took to social networking sites to voice their opinion on the hotly debated topic of the day. Kamal Haasan's daughter and actor Shruti Haasan tweeted "11.12.13 a day that reminds us how blatant regressing and oppressing someone has become - plan b move bedroom to another planet and time. Second 377 its frightening how someone else decides how when and who you should love -basically freedom of choice isn't legal anymore."

Acclaimed actor Atul Kulkarni "So, in India 2adults don't hv the right on their sexual preference in private;though no harm to any1. Parliament'll have to take a stand now."

Singer Chinmayi Sripaada tweeted "Beg your pardon Supreme Court of India, but criminalising homosexuality doesn't seem like justice upheld."

Actor Suresh said "Gay sex 'unnatural, immoral reflection of perverse mind' claims Supreme court! Stop crimes on women/children, corruption, poverty 1st fricktards!"

Noted author Chetan Bhagat posted "Sex and indians. Nothing brings out our hypocrisy better."
