Shahid Kapoor's 'Haider' makes Rs 6.14 cr on day 1

Shahid Kapoor-starrer Haider, which is being appreciated by the audience and critics alike, managed to open to decent collections at the box-office.

According to a report in Koimoi.com, the Indian adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet has managed to make Rs 6.14 crore on its first day of release (October 2). The numbers are impressive considering it has tough competition from Hrithik-Katrina-starrer action flick Bang Bang and had a comparatively smaller release in only around 1250 screens across India.

Directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, Haider stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu, and Kay Kay Menon. The movie boasts of a great narration and good performances by its lead actors.

The Koimoi report adds that the movie has done well in Bangalore, Mysore, Mumbai, Pune, Rajasthan, West Bengal and parts of Punjab.
