Civic chief, clerk booked for bribe holds land worth crores: ACB

BADLAPUR: Two days after chief of Kulgaon Badlapur Municipal Council, Rajesh Kanade, and senior clerk Dinesh Nirkar were arrested for allegedly accepting bribes, ACB officials said they had unearthed valuables and property documents worth "crores of rupees", during a search of their homes on Friday.

Officials said a search of Kanade's flat yielded Rs4 lakh cash, Rs19 lakh from his wife's account besides documents for 25 acres land in Kolhapur and a 2-acre plot in Raigad. Three cars and a bike were also confiscated, said the officials.


At Nerkar's home, officials said they recovered cash and documents for three flats, a shop and a 2-acre plot in Panvel.
