The film is likely to be shoot in countries like America, Germany and Nepal. Lohia had visited these countries for political purposes. The film will be a 90-minute docu-drama but viewers will have the feel of a feature film.
The film is expected to cost Rs 7 crore. The docu-drama would be funded by the Delhi-based Rammanohar Lohia Samata Vidyalay Nyas.
However, as many leaders from the Samajwadi Party are a part of the trust, the project may be funded by the state government. It was obvious that the Samajwadi Party would use the film in its election campaign.
"If Congress can use 'Gandhi', for its publicity, why should not the Samajwadi Party show a film on Lohia during their election campaign?" asked a SP leader.
Source said that the movie on the Samajwadi ideologue and socialist icon would be completed by March 23, 2015, which is the 105th death anniversary of the leader.
