Rape accused neta gets interim relief

MUMBAI: A women's court on Tuesday granted interim relief from arrest until October 28 to politician Laxman Dhoble, an accused in a rape case.

Special judge Vrushali Joshi said that considering the circumstances in the case it was a fit case to protect the applicant's liberty. An employee from Borivli's Nalanda Law College accused Dhoble, the founder of its trust, Shahu Shikshan Sanstha, of rape. Dhoble is a former water resources minister from the NCP. Dhoble advocate, Ashok Saraogi, said the allegations made by the woman were a "counter-blast" to the fraud complaint filed by the college against her in an admission racket. He said that the woman was appointed as a site supervisor and was not entitled to take admissions.
