Nalasopara man held for sexually abusing 10-year-old

MUMBAI: A Nalasopara man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 10-year-old minor neighbour since two months.

The suspect was caught red-handed by the girl's mother. He was beaten up by the locals and brought to the police station. The accused used to perform unnatural sex on the girl by offering her choclates and biscuits. He used to invite her to his home. On Tuesday, when the girl's mother went looking for her at their neighbour's place, she was shocked to find him abusing her.


The accused has been booked under sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sex), 504 (Intentional insult to provoke breach of trust) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses act. The girl has been send for medical examination.
