Man shot during Ganesh idol immersion in Dewas

INDORE: A Ganesha idol procession in Dewas town of Madhya Pradesh turned ugly on Monday late night, after a 35-year-old man was shot at by another youth over a petty issue.

Satish Verma, was shot at and injured by another man Harshad Bangad near the Novelty Crossing in Dewas town. He sustained bullet injuries in the hand and was hospitalised first in Dewas.


On Tuesday, however, doctors at Dewas referred him to a private hospital in Indore for an urgent surgery, Dewas Kotwali inspector in charge Bhupendra Singh told TOI on Tuesday evening.


A case of attempted murder has been lodged under Section 307 of IPC against Harshad Bangad and an aide Suresh Bhoransi by Dewas police and investigations are underway.


No arrests have been made so far.
