2G scam probe: SC tells Prashant Bhushan to submit entry register details of CBI director's residence

NEW DELHI: Supreme Court will on Thursday take up petition of advocate Prashant Bhushan to keep the CBI director away from 2G scam prosecution on the alleged ground that he was trying to scuttle it.

The top court also asked Prashant Bhushan to submit in sealed cover copies of CBI director's residence visitor entry book allegedly revealing frequent visits by Reliance ADAG group top executives, those accused in 2G scam, those involved in coal scam and alleged middlemen.

CBI director Ranjit Sinha told the court through counsel that it was an attempt to defame him and derail investigations into crucial cases.

In another development, Supreme Court appointed senior advocate Anand Gover as new prosecutor in 2G scam cases trial.

He replaces UU Lalit who has since been appointed judge of SC.
