Mishaps hold up traffic on Western Express Highway, Eastern Freeway

MUMBAI: Vehicular movement was hit on the Western Express Highway at Kherwadi and on the Eastern Freeway on Monday due to separate accidents.

Motorists faced snarls at Kherwadi around 10.30am due to a broken down truck on the south-bound stretch.

The backlog stretched up to the domestic airport in Vile Parle with some motorists getting stuck at one spot for as long as 20 minutes. The situation remained the same till afternoon. A few motorists tried to use the SV Road to reach Bandra as it was relatively unclogged.

The Eastern Freeway snarl occurred due to a mishap at noon when traffic from Wadala onwards was held up. It worsened due to people halting to take a look at the mishap.
