CV Rao sworn in as Maharashtra governor

MUMBAI: CV Rao was on Saturday sworn in as governor of Maharashtra at a function in Raj Bhavan here.

Bombay high court chief justice Mohit Shah administered the oath of office and secrecy to Rao, a senior BJP leader from Telangana.


Rao took over from Gujarat governor OP Kohli, who was given additional charge of Maharashtra after K Sankaranarayanan resigned from the post Sunday.


Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, his cabinet colleagues and other prominent dignitaries attended the function.
