Amar Singh meets Mulayam again

LUCKNOW: Days after sharing dias with Mulayam Singh, Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Amar Singh on Tuesday met Samajwadi Party chief at latter's residence in state capital. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav was also present in the meeting.

However, Singh dismissed all reports of him joining SP. Reacting to his meet with Mulayam, the Rajya Sabha MP said: "It was an informal, cordial meet".

The Rajya Sabha MP whose term in the upper house is to end later this year is believed to be in talks with the Samajwadi Party for a renomination on an SP ticket. Sources said Tuesday's meeting was another step towards ironing out the difference that had cropped up between Mulayam and Amar, when they parted ways in 2010.

Earlier this month, Singh had shared the dais with Mulayam and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav after a gap of four years when he was expelled from the Samajwadi Party.

Sources in the party also said Amar Singh has also met Akhilesh in London when the latter travelled there on holiday earlier this year, setting the stage for his gradual return.
