MUMBAI: A Dombivli boy died of snakebite on Thursday morning despite being rushed to Rukminibai Hospital in Kalyan, allegedly because doctor was not available at hospital. However hospital authority rubbished family's claims saying doctor was present at hospital but family. The incident took place in Dombivli's Manpada area, where victim Balaji Shinde (16) was sleeping in his house, when a snake entered in his house and bite him. Manpada police said when boy started feeling uneasiness he informed to parents who then rushed him to Rukminibai hospital in Kalyan for anti-venom serum. "When we reached at hospital for treatment nurse at duty said that doctor was not available at hospital but by the time doctor reached at hospital my son was died" said victim's relative. However Dr Leeladhar Mahaske, Health Officer of the KDMC (Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation) has refused family's claim saying that there should be some misunderstanding to family as when family reached to hospital at that time doctor was available at hospital. "I have personally made enquiry and come to conclusion that doctor was present at hospital but we are also checking CCTV footage to come on conclusion" said added Mahaske. Police said victim belongs to poor family and he was studying in SSC.
