'Most male designers are sensitive and gay'

Shakti Kapoor, who was recently in Jaipur for the shooting of his film Mumbai Can Dance Saala, plays a fashion designer in the film. He said that his career in showbiz helped him get into the character and make it look realistic. "With my experience in the glam world, I have noticed that 70% of the male fashion designers, who work with glamorous and beautiful women, are gay . In fact, girls feel quite safe in their company . I have also noticed that they are emotional, sensitive, possessive and they get hurt very easily ," said Shakti.

"There was a time when I used to be working on 40 films a year and they all portrayed me in a negative role. Thankfully , now the scenario has changed and I am getting different roles. I have a different role in each of the films I am currently shooting for. It doesn't matter if I am not getting 40 films a year as whatever roles I am being offered are substantial ones," Shakti told us. Shakti is on cloud nine with his daughter Shraddha Kapoor's success. He said, "Nobody in my family ever thought of such stardom for her. She is an intelligent person and has studied at Boston. I have a strong faith in her capabilities.

She is a sensible person who is well read and well travelled. In fact, when I am in doubt and dilemma, she is the one who comes to my rescue. I always go by her advice."

Smoking in public The actor was recently in news when a Jaipur based lawyer filed a complaint against the actor in a local court for flouting restrictions on smoking in public places. Shakti was seen smoking at the city's Sanganer Airport. Commenting on this Shakti said, "I just came out of the airport and did not know this. As I started smoking, one of the security personnel came to me and asked me to go in a corner and smoke. I did that. Later I was also asked to pay a fine of `200, which I paid then and there only . I have sent the receipt to be presented before the honorary court."
