NEW DELHI: Now, traders don't have to go to the corporation's office to get a licence. The East Delhi Municipal Corporation launched a new scheme on Monday under which trade licences will be delivered at traders' doorstep within 15 days. The civic agency has also simplified the scheme so that more traders can benefit from it.
For this, the civic agency has hired a private firm which will send its teams in markets and residential areas, to collect data from traders.
"We have simplified the policy for obtaining a trade licence. The firm will collect the basic information required for a trade licence from traders and give them a receipt which will serve as a temporary licence. Our department will send traders the licence by courier within 15 days," said B B Tyagi, leader of the House, East Corporation.
