MUMBAI: A thief, who was caught red-handed after he stole a handbag from a woman, was tied to a pole and thrashed by the public at Kandivali West on August 21. The incident took place at BhabrekarNagar around 4 pm. Police officials said the accused was operating in an autorickshaw.

"The complainant was fetching her son from school. She did not suspect anything when an auto drove by close to her. Suddenly, a youth seated on the passenger seat of the auto put his arm out and snatched the woman's handbag.
