Karnataka cops await MHA nod to question Bhatkal

BANGALORE: Karnataka police have constituted a team and are ready to question Yasin Bhatkal but they don't know when. Senior police officers say they are waiting to hear from the ministry of home affairs (MHA) or National Investigation Agency (NIA) who currently has Yasin's custody.

"We are waiting for some information from New Delhi. We have not even got an official confirmation of his arrest. We also learned through media and informal sources. So we have to wait for further direction," a senior police officer said.

Yasin is accused number one in the 2010 Chinnaswamy stadium blasts while the 2008 serial blasts and recent Malleshwaram blasts are believed to bear the imprint of Indian Mujahideen, the outfit founded by him. While some sources said the special team will leave for New Delhi on Monday, senior officers did not confirm it.
