Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie have repeat value

The trademark feature of a successful franchise is the star that has remained a constant in the changing landscape of each instalment. Actors in Hollywood are repeated across franchises because of their continuing pull at the box office as far as their characters and star value are concerned. In Bollywood, however (see box), this is not the case, with heroes, villains and female leads changing in each sequel, something that is a rarity in Hollywood.
