The letter dated August 7 wasreceived by the cell on August 12. The letter sought clarification about the genuineness of the anti-riot cell report that was issued on October 25 regarding verification of deaths of seven people identified as Harjinder Singh, Gurdial Singh, Gurcharan Kaur, Tajinder Singh, Jaspal Singh, Parjinder Singh and Manjit Singh, who had allegedly died in the November 1984 riots.
It was also requested that the genuineness of the letter be brought to the notice in the meeting fixed on August 13 as his office had received notice from Tabish Sarosh (advocate) on behalf of one Satwant Kaur for payment of relief of Rs 47,70,000.
While attending the meeting, the letter was shown to the undersigned by the SDM, Rohini, and it was found forged after the diary dispatch numbers were checked. The signatures were also found to have been forged.
