MUMBAI: The BEST has received complaints of electric wires hanging low from poles, which may pose a hazard to devotees who visit Ganpati pandals during the festival. BEST general manager O P Gupta said he has directed his staff to ensure that the wires were tied up at the specified height above roads. To prevent power theft, he has introduced a system under which pandals will be granted electricity after mandals pay a deposit and other charges. "Connections will be provided within 24 hours," said a senior official.
Mandals can submit Nine ward councils in the island city where mandals can submit their applications.
